Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 June 2026

These terms cover the use of the Umaclass website and the public parts of our service. The paid Online Madrasah programme is governed by a separate Service Agreement. By using this site you agree to the terms below.

1. About these terms

"We", "us" and "Umaclass" mean EDU DEVELOPMENT LTD, a private company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (company number 13877588). Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

"You" means the person using this website. If you are reading these terms on behalf of a child, you are doing so as the child's parent or guardian. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Who may use the site

The website is available to anyone. The paid programme is purchased by adults (parents or guardians) on behalf of children aged 7 to 14. Children should not enter into the paid programme themselves.

3. Accounts and access

If you create an account or enrol your child, you agree to:

  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your login details confidential — they are personal to your family.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Be responsible for everything done through your account, including by your child.

We may suspend or close accounts if we have a good reason — for example, repeated breach of these terms, non-payment, or behaviour that puts other students or staff at risk.

4. Acceptable use

Please use the site and the platform for their intended purpose: learning. We expect basic respect for teachers, curators and other families. Disagreements about Islamic practice are handled the way they're handled in our lessons — calmly, and with reference to the four imams of Sunni Islam.

5. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • Record, screen-capture, copy or redistribute lessons, materials or recordings outside your immediate household.
  • Share your account with people outside your family or sell access.
  • Try to break, probe or reverse-engineer our site, the LMS or the video platform.
  • Upload anything unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate for a children's classroom.
  • Impersonate another person, including a teacher or another student.
  • Use the site or platform to send spam, scrape data, or run automated tools without permission.

6. Our intellectual property

The website, the LMS, our brand, the lesson materials, the interactive activities and the lesson recordings are owned by us or licensed to us. We grant the parent and enrolled child a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use them for the family's own learning, for as long as the subscription is active.

You don't get any rights to copy, distribute, publicly display or build derivative products from our materials. If you want to quote or reference us — for example, in a school project — please ask first.

7. Content you submit

You keep ownership of anything your child submits as homework or shares in a lesson. You grant us a limited licence to use that content for the purpose of teaching, assessing and supporting your child, and for our internal record-keeping. We will not publish a child's work in marketing without separate consent.

8. Third-party links and services

The site sometimes links to third-party services — for example, WhatsApp for contact, or a survey tool for the diagnostic quiz. We don't control those services and we're not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Please check their own terms before using them.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available, but we don't promise 24/7 uptime. We may add, change or remove features, or take parts of the site down for maintenance. We will not change the paid programme in a way that materially reduces what you've paid for without notice — see the Service Agreement for details.

10. Disclaimers

Information on the website is provided for general information. We do our best to keep it accurate but we don't guarantee it is error-free or complete. Religious content reflects the mainstream Sunni position following the four imams and is taught by qualified staff; it is not a substitute for personal scholarship.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any statutory consumer right.

11. Limitation of liability

Subject to section 10:

  • We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the site.
  • We are not liable for business losses (for example, loss of profits or business opportunities) — this is a service for families, not businesses.
  • Our total liability to you in connection with the site and the service is capped at the total fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other consumer-protection law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. If we make a material change we will give active subscribers reasonable notice by email before it takes effect.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, although as a UK consumer you may also be able to bring proceedings in the country where you live.
